On September 2, 2021, the China Machinery Productivity Promotion Center organized a research and development meeting on the development and technology of thick large-section ductile iron castings of the National Defense Science, Technology and Industry Administration's research and development project "Development of Nodular cast iron spent fuel transport Vessel" task subtopic 2 "Research on Manufacturing technology of large ductile iron spent fuel Vessel castings". China Machinery Productivity Promotion Center and Riyue Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. reported the development and test results of the project, and experts discussed the research and development results of casting materials. After expert review, the appraisal opinions are as follows:

1.The research group has developed for the first time the thick large-section ductile iron castings for spent fuel transport containers, filling the domestic gap and its performance index is equivalent to that of similar international products.

2.Research on Manufacturing Technology of Large nodular iron spent fuel container castings" has completed 2 1:1 test pieces and 1 finished castings. Through the anatomy of 2 1:1 test pieces and the testing of the sampling parts of finished castings, the results show that they meet the technical requirements of the task book and the designer.

The expert group unanimously agreed that the subject passed the technical appraisal.

As a participant in the national nuclear energy development research project "Development of Ductile Iron Spent Fuel transport Vessel", your company optimized the process design and processing special tools according to the requirements of the task book and the technical requirements of the container design, carried out the casting technology research of thick and large section ductile iron simplified parts for transport vessels for the first time in China, and completed the casting of three hundred-grade ductile iron simplified parts. Solidified casting production technology and testing technology.

The first two nodular cast iron cylinders have been dissected and tested, and a large number of test data have been obtained. The third casting completed according to the container design drawing has been tested to meet the requirements of the design index, and has been applied to the processing and manufacturing of the test prototype of the nodular cast iron spent fuel transport container.

The successful development of thick large-section ductile iron for spent fuel transport containers filled the gap in the country, passed the technical evaluation, mastered the manufacturing technology of large-scale ductile iron spent fuel container cylinder castings, and provided strong support and guarantee for the nuclear energy development and scientific research projects led by our company.
